A collaborative Unity archive examining systems of violence through urban archaeology, theoretical research, game development, and interface design.

Project text

Developed collaboratively by Lileas Meng, Xiya Chen, and Shoroq Alashqar, Trace of Destruction is a Unity-based interactive archive examining the spatial and material structures through which systems of violence are produced and sustained.

The project combines theoretical and methodological research with urban archaeology, game development, digital archiving, and user-interface design. Drawing on strategies associated with forensic architecture, it organises fragments of spatial evidence within an interactive environment rather than presenting them as a fixed documentary record.

Navigation becomes part of the research process, allowing relationships between sites, events, materials, and forms of destruction to be encountered and interpreted through spatial interaction.
